Good food is mostly patience. Let the fire do its work, season it well, and sit down with people you like.

Our Story

Plated dish from the Emberwood kitchenFresh bread and spreads on the passsince 2014

Emberwood started with a secondhand oven and a short menu. Mara and Tomas spent two years selling plates at farmers markets before they found the old brick building on Marlow Street. The idea has not changed since day one. Simple food, cooked slowly, served without fuss.

We still bake our bread every morning, break down whole fish, and change the menu when the seasons do. Some things are worth doing the long way. Dinner at Emberwood tends to prove it, one table at a time.

Kind words

From our guests

We came in for a birthday dinner and left with a new favorite spot. The ribeye alone is worth the drive across town, and the staff treated us like regulars from the minute we sat down.

Birthday dinner

Cozy room, kind people, and the fried chicken is genuinely dangerous. I have been thinking about it for three days straight. We are already planning our next visit.

Friday night regular

Booked for our anniversary and they remembered it was our third time this year. That kind of thing keeps us coming back. The whole experience felt personal and unrushed.
